Real Life Wednesday

Hair by Daddy.

Did you know the hubs is a software engineer by day & hairstylist by night?

This is what happens when daddy & V are left alone for an extended amount of time.

I think the conversation went something like this.

V: “daddy more clips”…“daddy this one, too”

Hubs: “run downstairs & show mommy”

Giggling.

Nothing is more special than the daddy daughter bond…I speak as a self-proclaimed daddy’s girl myself :)

Yes indeed, I do believe she may have him wrapped around her little finger already.

I think he did a pretty good job.  It’s quite colorful, don’t ya think?

What kind of special daddy-kiddo moments have you witnessed?

Real Life Wednesday

Laundry.

Laundry will be the death of me.  See that pile (I mean, “piles” – I don’t think that can be defined as just one pile – HA!).  That is my everyday.

Does everyone hate laundry as much as me?  Wait, hate is a strong word.  Die, laundry, die!  Okay I feel better now, did I really just tell the laundry to die?!  Is it gone?  Nope, still there.  Nothing like a little (A LOT of) laundry to evoke such strong feelings ;)

It never seems to end.  I tried doing one load everyday; wash it, dry it, fold and hang it, & put it away.  It worked, for maybe a week.

Is there a laundry solution out there?

I can’t wait until V is 3.  Maybe, just maybe, she can do the loads for me – we’ll call it “whimsical wash” & “fantastic folding” – the fun will never end.  Wait, is 3 too young?  Nah-nonsense.

Seriously, if anyone has ANY magical solutions for doing laundry, I am open to anything, I mean, EVERYTHING!  I can do the washing & the drying, no prob Bob, it’s the FOLDING & the HANGING.  UGH – it takes FOREVER.  Maybe it is all my many years in retail management?  This is why I despise folding laundry – I can’t delegate it to anyone – HA!

That pile, oh that gorgeous pile, well, it’s all clean, it just needs to be snapped at by the magic Mary Poppins fingers & insert itself into all my drawers and closets.  Oh, if I could be Mary Poppins, for just ONE day…ahhhhhh…

Singing in my head now:

In every job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!
The job’s a game

Everyday I wake up saying (in my head of course), that this is the day all the laundry will be done & folded, and the hubs will walk in the door and do a happy dance that he finally has clean clothes.

And then real life happens, and I go to bed each day tripping over my pile of clean laundry needing to be folded.

If I was Mary Poppins for a day, I would spread the wealth, I truly would.  I would show up at everyone’s house and snap my fingers…it would be great fun (and I just might even sing about it).

Who would you like to be for a day?

Real Life Wednesday

Well, “Real Life Wednesday” is all about the behind-the-scenes footage in the mama♥miss house, please enjoy & please laugh ;)

Real Life Wednesday

What a crazy day last Wednesday was.

You know how you run upstairs to grab something & you can’t for the life of you remember what you climbed up those stairs for, so you have to go back downstairs & circle around trying to remember?  Well, yeah, this isn’t like that.  This is complete memory loss that was felt all the way to my stomach.

Last Wednesday was so busy I ate two lunches!  What’s that you say?!

Yep, I didn’t realize I ate two lunches until I started eating the second lunch.  I do realize this is ABSURD- who eats two lunches?!!!  This day is a testament as to why I need to slow down and take care of myself first, then tend to everybody else and their needs (a fed & rested mama is a sane mama :)

So here’s how it all went down…

  • I ate lunch on my way to an afternoon meeting knowing I’d get back at nap-time to pick up the kids. Therefore rushing to get them both down and not being able to sit & have a meal until way later.
  • Let me introduce you to “lunch one”.
  • So, I ate “lunch one”.
  • I then went to my meeting.
  • I left my meeting & it occurred to me that I hadn’t eaten lunch yet.
  • So, reminding myself of the nap-time debacle, I went through the drive thru & grabbed a quick meal on my way to pick up the kids.
  • Introducing “lunch two”.
  • While in the drive thru I could not for the life of me figure out why my stomach wasn’t growling with nothing in it (I absolutely did think this, but yet it did not spark a “lunch one” memory).
  • I put the non-stomach growling thoughts on the back burner.
  • I ate several bites of my new sandwich on my way to pick up the kiddos.
  • It then dawned on me that the reason my stomach wasn’t growling was because I HAD ALREADY EATEN – duh!

I have NEVER eaten a double lunch, EVER!  I forget to eat lunch sometimes altogether, but eating lunch twice because I completely forgot about the first time, well, this is a first!  It was so funny I was cracking up laughing in the car, driving by myself, with half of a sandwich hanging out of my mouth.  I almost got sick at the idea of eating two lunches.  I quickly preserved my craziness in a photo for you (the half eaten “lunch two”), and then proceeded to toss “lunch two” in the trash.

I still can’t believe I completely forgot I ate the first lunch – I mean, who does that?!

Have you ever eaten two lunches – or am I the only one?!

Oh, lunch, lunch, wherefore art thou lunch?

Deny my hunger, and refuse thy eat.

Or if thou starve not, be but a full tummy, and I’ll no longer be a hungry mama.

But wait, oh yeah, tis but thy lunch one that is my fullness, tis why thou are not hungry.

Real Life Wednesday

So I decided to go with this pic for my “Real Life Wednesday” today.

And here’s why!

Although this isn’t an imperfect pic, it’s a funny non-conventional pic I want to remember.  This was my real life happening right in front of me while I was absorbed into my blogging world.  If I hadn’t stepped away from my computer and went down where the hubs & V were giggling, I would have never seen this, therefore never pulling out the camera and capturing this moment of daddy-daughter silliness burrito-style.

As part of “Real Life Wednesday” I want to remember the funny moments, the silly moments, and most definitely the imperfect moments that turn into perfect moments :)

Roll, roll, roll your burrito,

Swiftly across the floor.

Silly, silly, silly, silly,

Little V says do it once more.
